Overview:
The Analytics and Data Platforms team is seeking a seasoned software engineer to assist in creating a suite of innovative cloud-native applications.

In this position, you will design and develop research and development tools (IDEs) utilizing contemporary web and cloud technologies that our Portfolio Managers and Quantitative Analysts depend on for market analysis, trading algorithm development, and risk modeling.

The Global Technology team at T. Rowe Price is instrumental in shaping the future of financial services, collaborating closely with business partners to enhance client experiences that redefine investment approaches.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage our AWS infrastructure utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems that focus on symptoms rather than outages.
- Architect, build, and sustain core infrastructure components to scale the Analytics Platform for processing intricate models with large and varied datasets.
- Troubleshoot production issues across various services and stack levels.
- Foster engineering team improvements through the development of tools, processes, and standards.
- Collaborate directly with technical users to gather requirements, demonstrate proof of concepts, and provide support.
- Engage in all facets of software development, including requirement gathering, design, implementation, automated testing, release management, and code reviews.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a systems automation engineer with a strong background in Linux and Site Reliability Engineering responsibilities.
- Deep understanding of automation principles and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, and R.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus, as well as log aggregation platforms such as Splunk.
- Experience with CI/CD tools similar to GitLab CI.
- Strong knowledge of security, monitoring, and performance aspects of cloud-native platforms and application architectures.
- Experience in developing and managing systems within AWS.
- A commitment to rapid delivery, fast iteration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of financial markets and instruments, with experience in front office software development within asset management, hedge funds, or investment banking.
- Experience with RStudio and proficiency in R and Python.

Work Flexibility:
This position allows for remote work up to three days a week.
