Nutanix (NTNX) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Systems Engineer (SE) who will serve as a trusted advisor during the presales process, guiding clients through their transformational journey with our diverse solutions portfolio. Your main role will involve collaborating with the sales team to provide in-depth technical insights regarding Nutanix offerings to our clients and prospects. You will deliver technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and assist prospects during critical technical evaluations (POCs) essential for closing deals. Furthermore, you will liaise with various teams to address customer issues, escalate product challenges, and represent our brand effectively.

About the Team

Being part of Nutanix's Senior Systems Engineer team means joining a network of over 800 customer-focused technical sales professionals committed to identifying technology solutions that meet client needs. As a vital component of the Systems Engineering & Solution Sales organization, your responsibilities extend beyond simple problem-solving; you will be recognized as a trusted advisor by Nutanix sales, customer success teams, business partners, and clients. The culture of this team is characterized by collaboration, expertise, and a consultative approach, ensuring that each member plays a significant role in driving the company's success.

You will report to the Systems Engineering Senior Manager as part of the Senior Systems Engineer team at Nutanix. This role offers a remote work arrangement, allowing you to work from your preferred environment while maintaining flexibility and autonomy. You can expect to collaborate with your manager and team members through virtual communication channels.

Travel for this position is primarily localized within a 2-hour radius of your designated territory, focusing on customer locations. While occasional travel beyond this area may be required for specific client interactions, such instances are infrequent, enabling you to maintain a balanced work-life schedule.

Your Role

  • Showcase features and articulate the advantages of Nutanix solutions to influence customer purchasing decisions and drive business transformation.
  • Assess and configure Nutanix solutions according to client needs.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with clients, establishing yourself as their trusted resource.
  • Relay customer feedback to the Nutanix ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with sales counterparts to develop account strategies, customer persona coverage models, and proposals that recommend and design solutions based on Nutanix offerings.
  • Work alongside the broader presales team to achieve technical wins efficiently and professionally.
  • Manage complex accounts and significant sales transactions.
  • Develop expertise in one or more Nutanix products.
  • Gain subject matter expertise in a specific vertical market such as Financial Services, Telecommunications, Healthcare, or Public Sector.

What You Will Bring

  • 6 to 9 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, with 3 to 5 years as a Presales Engineer.
  • Strong technical aptitude and adaptability to market demands.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Analytical mindset for solving complex issues, with the capacity to clearly articulate situations and propose strategic solutions.
  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and execute detailed action plans.
  • High standards of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and striving for excellence.
  • Capability to execute flawless proof of concepts, which may involve lifting up to 50 lb servers within a data center for hardware setup.
  • Presales experience in data center and cloud technologies, including storage, virtualization, and automation frameworks, with a solid understanding of technical specifications for selling Nutanix products and services.
  • Expertise in one or more relevant technology disciplines to establish credibility with technical leaders.
  • Ability to mentor new hires and colleagues.

The compensation range for this position is expected to be between USD $195,920 and USD $293,880 annually. However, the base salary may vary based on individual factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.

If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position," and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation programs at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company performance, and market factors.
