Position Overview

As a pivotal member of the Global Investment Operations team at T. Rowe Price, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of financial services. Collaborating closely with business partners, you will help create innovative client experiences that transform investment strategies. We seek technologists who bring fresh perspectives and are enthusiastic about tackling complex business, data, and technical challenges. You will be responsible for developing cutting-edge applications within cloud-based architectures, engaging hands-on throughout the entire development process, and revolutionizing how our traders, portfolio managers, and analysts serve our clients.

Our current initiative focuses on building the next generation of our data distribution platform, aimed at delivering real-time and on-demand investment data to a worldwide network of trading and research platforms. We are leveraging modern technologies such as cloud computing, microservices, and distributed databases to create scalable, resilient software services.

This role is a hands-on leadership position within the full development lifecycle, providing opportunities to address intricate business logic, data, and technical challenges. As the leader of your engineering team, you will be expected to think innovatively and integrate groundbreaking technologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the performance and outcomes of your engineering team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve critical business objectives in partnership with senior management.
  • Make informed decisions guided by departmental and business unit strategies, considering both short-term and long-term implications.

Expertise and Leadership

In this role, you will demonstrate specialized knowledge and extensive experience in your field, leading cross-functional programs with notable risk and employing sophisticated analytical skills to identify innovative solutions. You will be accountable for the work of yourself and your team, establishing standards that guide others.

You will work independently, seeking guidance only in the most complex situations, and serve as an advisor to management and key stakeholders on significant projects.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant technical field, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with the Charles River platform or similar Order Management systems is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in software engineering, particularly in C# and SQL Server.
  • Experience with AWS is highly desirable.
  • Ability to define testing strategies for products and ensure compliance with those strategies.
  • Experience leading projects using various SDLC methodologies, such as Scrum, while maintaining efficiency and transparency.

Work Flexibility

This position allows for remote work flexibility, with the option to work from home up to three days a week.
