Nutanix (NTNX) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Systems Engineer (SE) who will serve as a trusted advisor during the presales process, guiding customers through their transformation journey with our extensive solutions portfolio. Your main responsibility will be to collaborate with the sales team, providing technical insights into Nutanix offerings to both customers and prospects. You will deliver technical expertise through engaging sales presentations, product demonstrations, and assist prospects in their technical evaluations (POCs), which are vital for closing deals successfully. Furthermore, you will liaise with various teams to address customer issues, escalate product concerns, and represent our brand positively.
About the Team
Becoming part of Nutanix's Senior Systems Engineer team means joining a network of over 800 customer-focused technical sales professionals committed to identifying technology solutions that meet client needs. As a crucial component of the Systems Engineering & Solution Sales organization, your role transcends basic problem-solving; you will be relied upon as a trusted advisor by Nutanix sales, customer success teams, business partners, and clients. Collaboration, expertise, and a consultative approach define the culture of this team, ensuring that every member plays a vital role in the company's success.
You will report to the Systems Engineering Senior Manager as part of the Senior Systems Engineer team at Nutanix. This position offers a remote work arrangement, providing flexibility and autonomy in your work environment. You can anticipate working from your preferred location, with support and guidance from your manager and team members available through virtual communication channels.
Travel for this role will primarily be within a 2-hour radius of your designated territory, focusing on customer locations. While occasional travel beyond this area may be required for specific client engagements, such instances are infrequent, allowing you to maintain a balanced work-life schedule without extensive time away from home.
Your Role
- Showcase features and articulate the advantages of Nutanix solutions to influence customer purchasing decisions and drive business transformation.
- Assess and configure Nutanix solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, being recognized as their trusted resource.
- Relay customer feedback into the Nutanix ecosystem to enhance offerings.
- Collaborate with sales counterparts to create account plans, customer persona coverage models, and proposals that recommend and design solutions based on Nutanix products.
- Work alongside the broader presales team to achieve technical wins efficiently and professionally.
- Manage complex accounts and larger sales transactions effectively.
- Become a subject matter expert in one or more Nutanix products.
- Develop expertise in a specific vertical market such as Financial Services, Telecommunications, Healthcare, or Public Sector.
What You Will Bring
- 6 to 9 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, with 3 to 5 years in a Presales Engineer capacity.
- Strong technical aptitude and adaptability to changing market demands.
- Proven team player with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
- Analytical mindset for solving complex issues, with the ability to clearly articulate situations and propose strategic solutions.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills in English.
- Capability to manage multiple projects, prioritize urgency, and execute detailed action plans.
- Highest standards of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
- A commitment to continuous learning and striving for excellence.
- Ability to execute flawless proof of concepts, which may involve lifting up to 50 lb servers within the data center for hardware setup.
- Presales experience in data center and cloud technologies, including storage, virtualization, and automation frameworks, with solid expertise in technical specifications for selling Nutanix products and services.
- Subject matter expertise in relevant technology disciplines to establish credibility with technical leaders.
- Capability to mentor new hires and colleagues.
