Position Overview:
Northmarq is seeking a Loan Portfolio Analyst II to contribute to the Servicing - Portfolio & Asset Management division. This role requires a detail-oriented, service-driven individual who will handle financial statement and rent roll evaluations, surveillance, reserve disbursement requests, new loan audits, and underwriting borrower consent requests. The primary focus will be on managing commercial mortgage risk and delivering outstanding customer service. Additional responsibilities may evolve as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and prioritize workload to meet departmental benchmarks efficiently.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to lenders, borrowers, and servicing staff.
- Oversee a portfolio of commercial real estate loans with diverse requirements.
- Evaluate annual and quarterly financial statements for multifamily and commercial properties.
- Engage with borrowers and management companies regarding financial variances.
- Review and recommend reserve releases for various expenditures.
- Monitor maturing loans and issue necessary notifications.
- Update monthly loan reports for investor and management analysis.
- Audit new loan setups to ensure accurate terms and covenants.
- Underwrite and recommend lender consent for borrower requests.
- Calculate and coordinate loan payoff requests, including yield maintenance.
- Document collection efforts for outstanding mortgage payments.
- Develop strong relationships with Northmarq's lending partners.
- Participate in procedure committees to enhance Portfolio & Asset Management policies.
- Engage in training and mentoring across teams on analysis and underwriting.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned within the department.
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, real estate, or accounting preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a focus on commercial lending or servicing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate finance and loan terminology.
- Strong analytical and modeling capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated work ethic and flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
