Position Summary: This role is integral to a team managing a diverse portfolio of intricate commercial real estate accounts, aimed at fostering client retention and expanding existing relationships. Key responsibilities include overseeing current accounts to ensure adherence to compliance standards, analyzing financial data to assess loan requests, and identifying opportunities for cross-selling services. The Investment Portfolio Specialist will oversee loans, deposits, and referral generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional client service by promptly addressing inquiries and coordinating with relevant personnel to resolve issues.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of banking policies, procedures, loan products, and pricing structures.
  • Collaborate with the Lending team to implement corrective measures regarding accounts requiring special attention.
  • Review and manage the portfolio documentation for compliance with loan agreements, including exceptions and delinquencies.
  • Clear exceptions with proper approvals and documentation.
  • Prepare internal Compliance Certificates, including covenant calculations to ensure adherence to loan agreements.
  • Facilitate the extension of loan maturities.
  • Work closely with clients and loan operations to address delinquencies.
  • Organize departmental files on shared platforms.
  • Coordinate and manage the closing processes of all loans with clients and internal teams.
  • Oversee draws and advances of loans, including necessary inspections.
  • Manage payments, wires, and invoices related to loans.
  • Assist clients in opening, closing, and managing loan and deposit accounts.
  • Focus on key performance areas including relationship management, retention, asset quality, and fee income.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures established by Southside Bank.
  • Comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Foster a positive environment for clients and colleagues, aligning with Southside Bank's mission.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to all stakeholders.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through training and industry involvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in special projects and complete administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of lending experience, including formal credit training preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong understanding of non-borrowing products and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience in underwriting and familiarity with financial services products.
  • Knowledge of banking policies, guidelines, and commercial lending regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement within the office environment.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
  • Effective communication skills for daily interactions.
