JOB SUMMARY

The Portfolio Supervisor is tasked with supporting Relationship Managers in the assessment and facilitation of intricate consumer, residential, equipment, SBA, commercial real estate, and business financing in alignment with the bank's lending standards and protocols.

This position involves addressing credit and collateral exceptions and overdue accounts.

The Portfolio Supervisor will enhance the bank's business by fostering positive customer interactions and directing clients to suitable personnel for supplementary products and services.

This role necessitates the capability to manage 5-6 new financing transactions in a dynamic setting, oversee the current loan portfolio (loan covenants, borrowing base, etc.), and assist in finalizing new loans.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The responsibilities outlined below are indicative of the tasks that may be assigned and may not encompass all duties that the individual in this role may be required to perform.

The incumbent may be expected to undertake other related tasks as necessary.
Support the Commercial Relationship Managers in the daily oversight of their commercial banking connections.

Responsibilities include leading or aiding the relationship manager with term loan renewals, line of credit extensions, gathering financial data, and monitoring exceptions.

Engage directly with clients to gather necessary information.

Credit assessment, analysis, and evaluation may be required, as directed by or in collaboration with the Regional President or Commercial Relationship Managers.

Examine corporate and individual tax returns/financial statements for liquidity, leverage, and net worth.

Assess the creditworthiness of clients by analyzing data and trend information, utilizing various covenant tools to evaluate performance.

Assist the Commercial Relationship Managers in securing approval for the extension of credit facilities, waivers of specific requirements, restructuring of commercial credits, and other decisions as necessary to uphold the credit quality of the commercial portfolio.

Prepare and deliver credit presentations to executive and director loan committees, ensuring compliance with credit policy as well as stringent underwriting standards for accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.

Evaluate underperforming loans and devise action plans to assist the client in enhancing performance.

Through diligent monitoring and management of the loan portfolio's performance, investigate and report any emerging issues to the relationship managers and senior management.

Follow up on overdue and maturing loans.
Assist RM and RP in ensuring customer adherence to loan agreements (covenants, reporting, etc.)
Review monthly reports to confirm the accuracy of risk grades, maturing loans, and problematic loans.
Examine loan documents for precision.
Coordinate all internal and external audits of the loan portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; 7 -10 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Direct experience in a commercial banking environment, with a specific emphasis on commercial credit analysis and portfolio management preferred.

Demonstrated ability and experience working with lower middle market / middle market C&I companies, private equity firms, and family offices preferred.

Experience in middle market C&I credit analysis and underwriting, including both asset-based lending and cash flow lending.
Experience with syndicated credits preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and judgment.
Proficiency in commercial loan documentation.
Exhibit strong analytical and collaborative skills to benefit both customers and relationship managers.
Willingness to work independently and as an effective, enthusiastic team member.
Demonstrates professionalism, diplomacy, composure, and adaptability to various situations.
Strong communication skills, including listening, oral and written presentations.

Proficient computer skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Adobe, and D&H Credit Quest or similar credit workflow tool.

Outbound calling and regional business travel required.
Demonstrates strong ethics and commitment to stated corporate values.
