Job Overview

Foxhall Resort is seeking a skilled Conference Service Manager to facilitate exceptional conference experiences and fulfill client requirements through effective communication, meticulous planning, and strong leadership.

This role will report directly to the Director of Sales, with discussions regarding compensation and benefits to occur during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehend the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
  • Recognize the significance of enhancing meeting planner evaluation scores and implement strategies to surpass client satisfaction.
  • Maximize room rental revenues.
  • Engage in the re-booking of repeat clients, demonstrating a history of long-term relationships.
  • Actively participate in relevant industry organizations.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of sales techniques, including effective closing and negotiation skills.
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations with confidence.
  • Exhibit excellent creative abilities to develop innovative setups, menus, and functions for groups, collaborating closely with the culinary team on specialty menu pricing.
  • Work in tandem with the banquet department to ensure smooth operations and event execution, swiftly evaluating alternatives and determining action plans.
  • Provide comprehensive direction, coordination, and ongoing assessment of operations, ensuring detailed execution of all banquet event orders.
  • Manage Audio/Visual equipment provision and operation as a profit center.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, particularly Delphi, Word, and Excel.
  • Oversee group room blocks and generate detailed resumes for operational departments.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to guarantee client satisfaction for all events and groups.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for work.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in hospitality, particularly in catering sales, is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the hospitality industry is required.
  • Experience in a hotel of similar size and quality is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
  • Understanding of sales techniques, revenue management, and peer training and motivation.
  • Familiarity with hotel features, benefits, and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to implement effective action plans.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing strategies, safety programs, personnel relations, business plan preparation, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-term planning.
  • Capacity to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication styles to engage effectively with various audiences.
