Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics Business Development Manager at Glomo will spearhead the capture and opportunity pipeline development initiatives, ensuring comprehensive management and support throughout the proposal response lifecycle. This role is pivotal in fostering growth across various business lines and entails identifying and qualifying new business prospects from diverse electronic RFP/bid/procurement sources. The incumbent will engage in needs assessments, lead the formulation of solution recommendations, and develop both oral and written presentations, along with other essential business development materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the entire proposal response process, from RFP identification and analysis to the final production and submission of proposals.
  • Continuously research and monitor industry publications and electronic RFP/bid/procurement sources, while representing the company at industry events to uncover potential business development opportunities in moving, relocation, and logistics.
  • Assemble and manage proposal response teams, coordinating with colleagues across the organization, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Review the contributions of cross-functional team members for accuracy and relevance.
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting necessary service providers and contractors for successful bid submissions.
  • Participate in team-selling presentations to external clients, facilitating a shared understanding of solutions to complex challenges among senior-level decision-makers.
  • Log new business development opportunities in the company's CRM system; track and report on wins, losses, and undecided outcomes using CRM analytics tools.
  • Generate and present client management reports periodically, interpreting findings and recommending future actions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive companywide proposal library, including previous RFPs and submissions.
  • Collaborate on creating engaging business development content that aligns with brand guidelines.
  • Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify new business opportunities, utilizing statistical and visual modeling methods to develop actionable plans.
  • Support management initiatives and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

A minimum of four to six years of experience in marketing, business development, or account management within B2B, B2G, or B2C sectors is required, with a preference for backgrounds in Transportation, Relocation, Logistics, or Real Estate. Ideal candidates will have experience in proposal writing and a thorough understanding of the procedures involved in opportunity qualification and contract negotiations.
