POSITION SUMMARY

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is currently seeking qualified Security Officers (Male or Female) to fulfill roles on a government contract. The selected candidates will be stationed at a diplomatic facility, responsible for maintaining security protocols throughout the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

The following duties outline the essential functions of this role, though additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Conduct access control and screening processes, including vehicle inspections and patrols.
  • Work schedule: 6 days a week, with potential for up to 60 hours.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of experience in military, law enforcement, or a commercial security role.
  • Possession of an active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Must hold a valid Diplomatic Passport.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Security Officer will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Proficient use of computer systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Execution of security duties at both fixed and mobile posts.
  • Collaboration with local authorities to prevent criminal and terrorist activities.
  • Implementation of access control measures to restrict entry to authorized personnel only.
  • Operation of security equipment such as metal detectors and X-ray machines.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands necessary to perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Essential functions may require the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, with a significant amount of time spent in a seated position with opportunities for movement.

Work Environment:

The work environment is primarily an office setting, with regular exposure to computer screens and the need for extensive use of office equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory duties are associated with this position.

Additional Requirements:

As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. If applicable, candidates must also obtain the necessary security clearances to access military installations.

BSNC prioritizes hiring, promotion, training, and retention for BSNC shareholders, their descendants, and spouses who meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
