Job Overview

Position: Unarmed Security Officer

The responsibilities of the unarmed security officer encompass a variety of essential tasks aimed at ensuring safety and security. These duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the premises and conducting perimeter checks.
  • Providing assistance to the public and addressing inquiries.
  • Maintaining a designated post and being prepared for emergency situations.

Qualifications

A. Experience

A.1 A minimum of two (2) years of experience in general security services is preferred.

B. Licensing

B.1 Possession of relevant security licenses is preferred.

C. Training Requirements

C.1 Completion of all Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) training, including topics such as Inclusion, Diversity, and Harassment.

C.2 Fulfillment of all training mandated by the Director of Human Resources.

C.3 Participation in any additional training required by the organization.

D. Compensation

D.1 The hourly wage for this position is $15.13.

E. Work Schedule

Responsibilities and Requirements

1. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

2. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

3. Security personnel must be physically capable of performing their duties to ensure the safety of individuals and property, which includes:

  • Being in good physical and mental health.
  • Ability to navigate stairs.
  • Having no significant hearing impairments and possessing good vision.
  • Exercising sound judgment and responding swiftly in emergencies.
  • Conducting oneself in a professional manner at all times while on duty.

4. Responsibilities include assisting in maintaining order and security, being courteous and respectful in interactions with all individuals, and adhering to confidentiality policies.

5. Duties also involve inspecting the building's interior and exterior, completing inspection reports, and monitoring for any suspicious activities.

6. Security officers are expected to respond to assistance requests and provide relief to fellow security staff as needed.
