Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the kitchen on a daily basis, ensuring impeccable service and adherence to restaurant policies.
  • Mentor junior staff members, promoting a positive working environment and fostering opportunities for growth and development.
  • Uphold restaurant standards for quality and cleanliness, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Collaborate with the management team to create a culture and work environment based on respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the management staff, ensuring service standards meet or exceed outside accreditation sources, including Zagat, Gayot, Yelp, and Michelin.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 4 years of kitchen management and cooking experience in a fine dining/upscale dining restaurant.
  • Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant's operating area.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on providing positive solutions and contributing to the decision-making process.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for a minimum of 8 hours a day, with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and stamina to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
