We are currently seeking a full-time Facilities Specialist 2 to engage in a variety of specialized tasks and coordinate effective solutions while working independently. This position is essential for the upkeep, maintenance, and operational integrity of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for facilities-related issues within assigned buildings and laboratories; initiate and oversee work requests, manage maintenance budgets, and ensure timely completion of routine services.
  • Oversee property administration tasks, including inventory management, data entry, and record-keeping to support space allocation decisions.
  • Implement and manage facility security protocols, including access control and monitoring security infrastructure needs.
  • Coordinate small-scale projects, ensuring they are organized, scheduled, and executed within budgetary constraints.
  • Serve as the safety management coordinator, addressing safety concerns, tracking hazardous materials, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Facilitate communication services, providing updates and notifications to building occupants and managing mailing services.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree coupled with five years of relevant facilities management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated expertise in facilities management or a related field.
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess complex data related to space and equipment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Familiarity with office software and facilities management systems.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid California Non-commercial Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform various physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Willingness to respond to emergency situations at any time.
