Position Overview
The Financial Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the accounting department. This role includes directing and supervising staff to ensure a full spectrum of accounting support services is provided to the Bank.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review general ledger reconciliations prepared by staff to ensure compliance with accounting standards and to understand the nature of discrepancies.
  • Monitor daily transactions with the Federal Reserve Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank, delegating recording tasks to staff accountants while keeping the Controller informed of liquidity requirements.
  • Oversee daily settlement transactions for OpenSky, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Manage the recording of general ledger entries related to CDARS and ICS as necessary.
  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports, including the FR2900 on a weekly basis.
  • Review and approve general ledger transactions initiated by staff.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process by supervising staff accountants and preparing necessary reconciliations and entries.
  • Collaborate with the Controller on regulatory reporting and maintain knowledge of accounts payable, fixed assets, reconciliation, payroll, and investment systems.
  • Provide support to other departments in resolving accounting-related inquiries.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with SOX controls and facilitate various audits.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate and timely recording of stock and option-related entries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a financial institution.
  • Familiarity with financial and banking accounting reporting systems; knowledge of Fiserv Premier or Prologue is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and banking regulations.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
