Position Overview

The Strategic Business Development Lead at Fawkes IDM will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's growth initiatives. This position requires a dynamic individual who can navigate the complexities of business development within the legal sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and presenting proposals, pitches, and innovative strategies for acquiring new business opportunities.
  • Acquiring in-depth knowledge of the firm's practice areas, including attorney expertise, industry trends, and client profiles.
  • Maintaining and updating marketing materials for each practice area to ensure accuracy and completeness, including experience lists and descriptive collateral.
  • Managing submissions for various practice areas, including directory listings, awards, and rankings.
  • Facilitating meetings for practice groups, fostering collaboration among subgroups and enhancing cross-selling opportunities.
  • Creating comprehensive business development and marketing strategies tailored to specific practice areas and lawyers.
  • Working closely with the business development team to identify cross-selling opportunities and strengthen client relationships across the firm.
  • Providing coaching and support to lawyers in their business development and networking endeavors.
  • Planning and executing events, continuing legal education (CLE) sessions, sponsorships, and other targeted marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborating on public relations, communications, and digital marketing efforts by identifying relevant issues and leveraging lawyers' expertise for commentary or articles.
  • Crafting key messaging to effectively position the firm within the marketplace.
  • Conducting research on industry trends, potential clients, and competitors to identify challenges and propose actionable strategies.
  • Overseeing and directing marketing personnel and resources to bolster individual lawyer and practice group marketing initiatives.
  • Managing business development budgets effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus on marketing or business.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in business development or marketing within a law firm environment.
  • Experience in Corporate and Tax law sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in driving growth and client acquisition.
