Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Specialist to join our team at the University of Nebraska. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial support and guidance to various departments and units across the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and review complex financial transactions, including travel, procurement, contracts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting, foundation, budgeting, and asset management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to employees and departments, ensuring timely and accurate financial information and assistance.
  • Work closely with functional office staff and other departments to ensure seamless financial operations and compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, plus four years of related finance work experience.
  • Experience with SAP or large integrated finance systems.
  • Ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
  • Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting training and coaching others.
  • Experience working in a team environment and serving multiple units.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.
