About the Role

The University of Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled Grants Specialist to join our team. As a Grants Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the university's research and academic initiatives by providing expert grant management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultative services to faculty and staff on grant development, submission, and management.
  • Execute and review grant transactions, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with departmental staff and functional office teams to provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Utilize technology to provide professional services and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus four years of experience in grant management and/or finance.
  • Experience with SAP or similar integrated finance systems.
  • Ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
  • Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project or cost accounting.
  • Experience conducting training and development programs.
  • Experience serving multiple units as part of a service team.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.
  • Knowledge of grant terminology and practices.
