Position Overview:

Ground Transport Responsibilities:


Utilizing independent assessment skills, the AEMT activates patient care protocols to provide comprehensive care within the full scope of practice as defined by state regulations. This role requires adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards while ensuring safe transport of patients in compliance with Vanderbilt's policies and procedures. Effective communication is essential to guarantee quality patient care during transport and handover.


Work Schedule:
Flexible shifts of 12 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Department Overview:


LifeFlight Ground EMS began with a single ambulance and has expanded to a fleet of 21 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances across multiple locations in Middle Tennessee. Our primary focus is on interfacility transfers and discharges from Vanderbilt-affiliated medical facilities, while also supporting non-affiliated facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete accurate documentation of patient transports and care in accordance with compliance policies.
  • Ensure safe patient transport by adhering to established safety protocols and maintaining equipment according to regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet patient needs.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Patient Assessment and Stabilization (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental skills in assessing and stabilizing patients under supervision.
  • Knowledge of Drug Interactions (Novice): Understands basic drug interactions relevant to patient care.
  • Emergency Management (Novice): Applies emergency management principles in practical scenarios.
  • Critical Thinking (Novice): Exhibits clarity and sound reasoning in task completion.

Position Qualifications:

Certifications:
Valid Driver's License - State of residence, Emergency Medical Technician Advanced - Licensure.
Experience Level:
Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
Education:
