Position Summary:

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) in LifeFlight Event Medicine operates independently, utilizing assessment skills to implement patient care protocols within the full scope of practice as defined by state regulations. This role requires adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards while ensuring safe transport of patients in compliance with established policies and procedures. Effective communication is essential for delivering high-quality patient care during transport and handover processes.

Our AEMTs are responsible for providing emergency medical services at various events, ranging from small gatherings to large-scale functions. The ability to work autonomously is vital, as you may be the sole EMS provider at an event, depending on its size and contractual obligations.

Work Schedule:
We employ a self-scheduling system. Events typically occur during evenings and weekends, with variations based on specific needs.
Events can range from three to thirteen hours, with an average duration of five hours.
Employees in Event Medicine are expected to participate in a minimum of four events each month.

Department Summary:
The Event Medicine division of Vanderbilt LifeFlight was established in 2008, initially serving as the official healthcare provider for local sports teams. We provide AEMT and paramedic-level emergency medical services for team members and spectators at various events throughout the region.
In addition to sports events, our services extend to concerts, festivals, and other large gatherings, handling approximately 1,000 events annually in the Middle Tennessee area.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute thorough documentation of patient care and transport activities in line with compliance policies.
• Ensure safe patient transport by adhering to established safety protocols and maintaining equipment according to regulatory standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet patient needs and enhance overall care quality.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

- Emergency Medical Technician Basic Licensure - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
Experience:
- Relevant work experience preferred

- Graduate of an accredited discipline-specific program
