Position Description
The Ronda lab at the Innovative Genomics Institute is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join our multidisciplinary team. Multiple openings are available. Our research focuses on elucidating the human-microbiome interactome through Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology approaches. We develop innovative technologies to manipulate and analyze microbiomes, utilizing mouse models and gut organoids to explore the fundamental mechanisms of host-microbiome interactions and their implications for human health and disease. The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with diverse teams from leading institutions.
Key responsibilities may include: conducting laboratory experiments, designing and implementing complex protocols, analyzing experimental data with advanced bioinformatics tools, contributing to the development of novel methodologies, creating computational models, actively participating in lab meetings, collaborating with team members to refine research strategies, maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures and outcomes, assisting in the preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals, leading the publication of research findings, and presenting results at academic conferences.
Our lab is engaged in various projects ranging from in vivo microbiome editing to bioinformatics, immunology, and neuroscience.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (required at time of application)
PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrollment in a PhD program.
Additional Qualifications (required at time of start)
PhD (or equivalent international degree) required by the appointment start date. Candidates should have no more than three years of post-degree research experience by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in fields such as microbiome research, systems biology, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, immunology, neuroscience, computer science-AI, engineering, or stem cells/organoids.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience with in vivo models, particularly mice.
Proficiency in molecular biology techniques.
Familiarity with OMICs technologies and data analysis.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
