Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing synthetic biology and metabolic engineering tools to alter cyanobacteria for increased production of biomass and chemicals in alkaline salt media.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement synthetic biology and metabolic engineering strategies to enhance cyanobacterial productivity
  • Develop and optimize high-throughput screening tools to evaluate strain performance
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop sustainable and biodegradable polyester polyurethane materials
  • Evaluate and optimize biochemical and analytical chemistry methods for product purification
Requirements
  • PhD in Biology or related field with experience in synthetic biology, microbiology, and biochemistry
  • Strong background in cyanobacteria and metabolic engineering
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Postdoctoral or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Experience with high-throughput screening and biochemical analysis
  • Strong interest in sustainable and biodegradable materials
