Genentech, Inc. is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to drive independent research projects focused on understanding disease pathogenesis and testing therapeutic hypotheses for retinal diseases.
About the Role:
- Conceive, plan, and conduct independent research projects to advance scientific understanding and drive innovation
- Develop novel hypotheses and drive projects to test therapeutic hypotheses for retinal diseases
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Stem Cell Biology, Reprogramming, Cell Biology, or Neuroscience with a strong background in culturing organoid models or stem cell biology
- Proven track record of excellence in publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals
- Proficiency in organoid models, CRISPR screens, or stem cell biology with a strong understanding of disease pathogenesis
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with computational skills, retinal disease modeling, or omics with a strong understanding of data analysis and interpretation
- Expertise in pluripotent cell research with a strong understanding of cell biology and disease modeling
- Ability to tackle challenging problems in retinal biology with a strong understanding of scientific principles and methodologies
