Position Description

The Ronda lab at the Innovative Genomics Institute is looking for dedicated postdoctoral researchers to contribute to our multidisciplinary team. We have multiple openings available. Our research is centered on elucidating the human-microbiome interactome through Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology approaches. We aim to develop cutting-edge technologies for microbiome engineering and modulation, utilizing mouse models and gut organoids to explore the fundamental dynamics of host-microbiome interactions and their relevance to human health and disease. The postdoctoral researcher will engage in collaborations with various multidisciplinary teams from esteemed institutions.

Key responsibilities for this role may include: conducting laboratory experiments, designing and implementing complex protocols, analyzing experimental data using advanced bioinformatics tools, contributing to the development of innovative methodologies, creating novel computational models, actively participating in lab meetings, collaborating with team members to enhance research strategies, maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures and outcomes, assisting in the preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals, leading the publication of research findings, and presenting results at national and international conferences.

Our lab encompasses diverse projects ranging from in vivo microbiome editing to bioinformatics, immunology, and neuroscience.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (required at time of application)
PhD (or equivalent international degree) or currently enrolled in a PhD program.

Additional Qualifications (required at time of start)
PhD (or equivalent international degree) must be obtained by the appointment start date. Candidates should have no more than three years of post-degree research experience by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in any of the following fields: microbiome research, systems biology, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, immunology, neuroscience, computer science-AI, engineering, stem cells/organoids.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.

Experience with in vivo models, particularly mice, is preferred.

Proficiency in molecular biology techniques is necessary.

Familiarity with OMICs technologies and data analysis is advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
