Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Orthotic and Prosthetic Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in enhancing patient care through the evaluation, design, and custom fitting of artificial limbs and orthopedic braces. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving patient outcomes and will work collaboratively within our Ortho Life Orthopedic platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough examinations, interviews, and measurements of patients to assess their appliance needs and identify factors influencing appliance fit.
  • Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal fit, function, and comfort.
  • Educate patients on the use and maintenance of orthoses and prostheses.
  • Design orthopedic and prosthetic devices based on physician prescriptions and patient assessments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with industry standards.
  • Create and modify plaster casts for prosthetic or orthotic fittings, aiding in the device construction process.
  • Select appropriate materials and components based on device specifications.
  • Collaborate with physicians to establish specifications and prescriptions for orthopedic and prosthetic devices.
  • Repair, rebuild, and modify existing prosthetic and orthopedic appliances.
  • Oversee the construction and fabrication of appliances or guide others in the process.
  • Train and supervise orthopedic and prosthetic assistants and technicians.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements by attending relevant conferences and seminars.
  • Demonstrate orthopedic and prosthetic appliances to healthcare professionals.
  • Manage inventory of materials across main and satellite locations.

Qualifications:
  • Current licensure and/or certification in good standing by the appropriate governing agency.
  • Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits as required by industry guidelines.
  • Ability to practice within the defined scope of work.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Completion of mandatory training in compliance with HIPAA, sexual harassment, and universal precautions.
  • Possession of any additional state-required licensing for specific duties.
  • Leadership in maintaining compliance with facility accreditation standards.
  • Active participation in annual performance reviews with facility support staff.
  • Mandatory attendance at company-hosted training sessions and meetings.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000. All full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and a 401k plan.
