Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations and measurements of patients to determine their specific needs for prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Fit, assess, and adjust devices to ensure optimal comfort and functionality for patients.
  • Provide comprehensive instructions to patients regarding the use and maintenance of their orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Design and create custom orthopedic and prosthetic solutions based on detailed prescriptions from healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize plaster casting techniques for device construction and modifications.
  • Select appropriate materials and components tailored to each device's design requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians to establish precise specifications for devices.
  • Repair and modify existing prosthetic and orthopedic appliances as needed.
  • Oversee the construction of appliances or guide team members in the fabrication process.
  • Provide training and supervision to orthopedic and prosthetic assistants and technicians.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through seminars and workshops.
  • Educate healthcare professionals about the features and benefits of orthopedic and prosthetic devices.
  • Manage inventory of materials across various locations.
Qualifications:
  • Current licensure and/or certification in good standing from the appropriate governing body.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and compliance with industry guidelines.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Completion of mandatory training sessions, including HIPAA compliance and safety protocols.
  • Compliance with facility accreditation standards and participation in performance evaluations.
