Position Overview

This role involves the comprehensive evaluation, design, and custom fitting of prosthetic limbs and orthopedic braces. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in creating artificial limbs and fitting orthopedic supports, while also demonstrating leadership capabilities within a collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments, interviews, and measurements of patients to determine their specific needs for prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, ensuring optimal adjustments for comfort and functionality.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and maintenance of their orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Design and develop orthopedic and prosthetic solutions based on detailed prescriptions from healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with industry standards.
  • Create and modify plaster casts for device construction.
  • Select appropriate materials and components for device fabrication.
  • Collaborate with physicians to establish precise specifications for devices.
  • Repair and modify existing prosthetic and orthopedic appliances as needed.
  • Oversee the construction of appliances or guide team members in the fabrication process.
  • Provide training and supervision to orthopedic and prosthetic assistants and technicians.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements by participating in professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate devices to healthcare professionals as required.
  • Manage inventory of materials across various locations.

Qualifications:
  • Current licensure and/or certification in good standing from a recognized governing body.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and compliance with professional guidelines.
  • Ability to work within established scopes of practice.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Completion of mandatory training sessions on compliance and workplace safety.
  • Possession of any additional state-required licenses for practice.
  • Leadership in maintaining facility accreditation standards.
  • Participation in annual performance evaluations of support staff.
  • Engagement in company-sponsored training and meetings.
