We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prosthetist Orthotist Specialist to join our team at Pacific Medical Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, fabricating, and custom fitting artificial limbs and orthopedic braces, as well as designing and making artificial limbs and orthopedic devices. This individual will also be responsible for instructing patients in the use and care of orthoses and prostheses, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Device Design and Fabrication: Design and fabricate orthopedic and prosthetic devices based on physicians' prescriptions and examination and measurement of patients.
  • Patient Evaluation and Fitting: Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine their appliance needs and identify factors that could affect appliance fit.
  • Device Testing and Evaluation: Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, and make adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort.
  • Patient Education and Training: Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses and prostheses.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with ABC and CMS standards.
  • Device Repair and Modification: Repair, rebuild, and modify prosthetic and orthopedic appliances as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Must be currently licensed and/or certified and in good standing by governing agency in your field of study either ABC or BOC.
  • Continuing Education: Must maintain CME's annually in accordance with ABC and BOC guidelines.
  • Scope of Practice: Must practice within your scope of work unless privileged by a supervisor or practitioner of another specialty.
  • Compliance: Must adhere to the guidelines as set forth in the employee handbook of Pacific Medical Inc. upon hire.
  • Training and Development: Must attend and show competency in HIPAA compliance, sexual harassment training, and universal precautions training.
