Job Summary:

The Director of Human Resources at B&D Industries is a strategic leader responsible for developing and implementing HR initiatives that drive business growth, retention, and development of top talent. This role requires a strong understanding of HR best practices, business acumen, and exceptional leadership skills to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

This position oversees the HR function, including recruitment, talent management, employee engagement, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The successful candidate will be a strategic business partner, working closely with the executive team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's mission, vision, and values.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role. They will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically. A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field is required, along with a professional HR certification such as SPHR.

This role includes supervisory responsibility for the HR Manager, Learning & Development Manager, and HR Generalist & Recruiter. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal standards, as well as monitoring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Retention:

Develop and implement performance management systems to optimize staff retention and engagement.

Manage corporate policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure optimization and retention of staff.

Coordinate and monitor reward, recognition, communication, and employee morale-building activities.


Development:

Ensure the effective implementation of B&D's Learning and Development Procedure to provide employees with the training and education needed for success.


Recruitment:

Implement an effective Corporate Talent Acquisition strategy to recruit talented, capable individuals.


Support:

Support projects and project teams to deliver a safe, profitable project.


Compliance:

Ensure corporate compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including record-keeping and reporting.

Manage and take ownership of the Vista HR system to ensure integrity and accuracy of employee data.

Maintain and manage personnel files, including training records, safety activities, OSHA personnel items, and workers' compensation.

Lead the effort to train staff, maintain all training records, and compile any necessary reports.

Lead claims management efforts for the company.

Work with the HR Manager to investigate health and safety complaints related to home office or the field in conjunction with the Safety Department and make recommendations for resolution.

Coordinate with the Safety Director on workers' compensation issues.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, supervisory and leadership proficiency.


Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or a professional HR certification.
Understands the requirements of a professional HR Manager position:
DOT, EPA, and OSHA familiarity; understands compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations.
Knowledgeable in workers' compensation case management, including return to work programs.
Minimum 10 years management or leadership experience and 5+ years HR experience.
SPHR Certification or industry equivalent.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position includes, but is not limited to, supervision of the HR Manager, Learning & Development Manager, and HR Generalist & Recruiter.
