Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Space Component Development workstream. This role will involve managing, planning, and executing projects to deliver cutting-edge technologies to space. The successful candidate will contribute to large-scale and high-impact efforts within the company, driving Capella's ability to launch innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technology projects through the full program lifecycle, including planning, execution, project closure, stakeholder management, and issue/dependency management.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology projects, and tracking and maintaining schedules and status across multiple development projects.
  • Prioritize projects and programs based on strategic importance, resource availability, and business impact.
  • Manage complex budgets, including labor forecasts, actuals, material, and subcontractor management.
  • Mentor and knowledge-share with project resources, ensuring accountability for project deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with broad ranges of technical and non-technical resources, internal and external audiences, and all levels of the organization.
  • Translate technical requirements into work delivery plans and drive decision-making with data.
  • Experience with various project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of program management experience.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and collaboration platforms, such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience in space or a related field, with a strong understanding of engineering and technical concepts.
  • Government program experience and a strong background in vendor management.
  • Experience with Jira/Agile management is a plus.
