Research Fellow in Advanced Polymer Science

Position Overview:

The Chemistry Department is seeking applications for two Research Fellows specializing in Advanced Polymer Science. The successful candidates will collaborate closely with the lead researcher, focusing on the meticulous synthesis of polymers and innovative polymeric materials. These positions are designed for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct advanced research in the synthesis and characterization of well-defined polymers.
- Mentor graduate students and contribute to their academic development.
- Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications to secure funding for ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

- A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in molecular and material characterization techniques such as NMR, IR, TGA, TEM, GPC, DMA, and DSC.

Preferred Skills:

- Demonstrated experience in synthesizing and characterizing well-defined polymers.
- A strong publication record in relevant scientific literature.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
