Position Summary

The Oregon Primary Care Association (OPCA) is in search of a dedicated Communications and Engagement Manager. This role is pivotal in enhancing the visibility of our health centers through innovative communication strategies that foster community awareness and amplify our impact. Collaborating closely with the Public Affairs and Development Director, the successful candidate will devise and execute effective strategies aimed at supporting, retaining, and promoting relationships with sponsors, funders, and vendors to meet OPCA's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communications (Approximately 70% of role)
    • Develop and oversee a comprehensive organization-wide communications strategy, under the guidance of the Public Affairs and Development Director.
    • Create engaging content for diverse platforms, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and the OPCA website.
    • Manage and enhance social media and digital platforms, taking charge of boosting engagement across channels such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
    • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of OPCA's digital presence, utilizing tools like Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.
    • Supervise multiple newsletters for OPCA's various business lines, ensuring content aligns with OPCA branding and messaging.
    • Provide logistical and administrative support for the Communications Peer Group to strengthen relationships with external stakeholders.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and developments.
  • Engagement & Promotion (Approximately 15% of role)
    • Work alongside the Public Affairs and Development Director and Programs team to design targeted marketing campaigns aimed at attracting donors and sponsors.
    • Identify and facilitate sponsorships and partnerships that enhance OPCA's community engagement.
    • Oversee promotional efforts for events, particularly the OPCA Annual Conference, to maximize attendance and engagement.
    • Ensure alignment of OPCA events with the organization's overall marketing strategy.
    • Build and manage event registration pages using selected platforms.
  • Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities (Approximately 5% of role)
    • Collaborate with leadership to contribute to budget development and resource management for the program area.
    • Participate in one or more internal OPCA committees as needed.
  • Additional Duties (Approximately 10% of role)
    • Handle individual administrative tasks such as scheduling and internal communications.
    • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and/or up to five years of experience in communications and graphic design.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in creative design tools such as Canva.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools like Loomly or Hootsuite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and anticipate needs.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively across the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in graphic design and website content management systems.
  • Familiarity with online communication tools and event planning.
  • Social media expertise.
