The Planning Project Manager will represent the organization in various public forums and community events. Key Responsibilities

The Planning Project Manager will utilize data analysis methods to create and present technical evaluations that inform forecasts, policy analyses, cost-effectiveness assessments, and resource estimations. This role involves:

  • Creating and updating efficiency resource supply forecasts for long-term planning.
  • Collaborating with utilities to assist in their Integrated Resource Planning by providing forecasts of potential program activities.
  • Interpreting resource supply forecasts and models to help programs identify new opportunities and expand services to diverse customer demographics.
  • Designing and recommending efficiency and renewable program strategies based on market trends and technological advancements.
  • Delivering public presentations and facilitating discussions on resources, market evaluations, and program performance metrics.
  • Conducting cost-effectiveness analyses of selected efficiency measures and programs.
  • Supporting the Planning team in refining frameworks and operational policies to engage new and diverse customer groups.
  • Enhancing the information framework to support tracking and reporting for Energy Trust's initiatives.
  • Analyzing complex datasets and ensuring quality control.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to optimize organizational performance.
  • Communicating policy-oriented planning concepts effectively.
  • Coordinating with contractors to produce analyses and reports.
  • Developing internal systems for tracking program funds and performance.
  • Conducting above-market cost analyses for renewable resource options.
  • Maintaining and improving key assumptions in cost-effectiveness models.
  • Preparing regular and ad hoc reports on program performance.
  • Implementing continuous process improvements for efficiency and inclusivity.
  • Performing additional job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensuring all job functions are performed safely.
Supervisory Duties

This position will involve coordinating work with contractors and may include directing interns.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (economics, planning, engineering, mathematics) with a focus on quantitative analysis; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in quantitative economic and market analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with a diverse team.
  • One year of experience in renewable and/or efficiency programs is preferred.
  • Experience applying engineering concepts to support investment decisions in energy efficiency or renewable energy.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and apply statistical techniques.
  • Skills in project management, policy compliance, communication, and detailed data analysis.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in conveying complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in resource economics and investment decision-making in energy efficiency and renewable resources.
  • Ability to mentor interns and coordinate contractor work.
  • Understanding of energy regulatory frameworks and market fundamentals is preferred.
  • Capability to design and implement complex spreadsheet analysis tools.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to seek collaborative solutions.
  • Experience with coding for complex analyses in platforms such as R is beneficial.
