Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Associate to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our endocrinology department, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients while facilitating patient flow. Your administrative support will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the initial point of contact for all patients and customers, greeting and answering phones in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing and directing calls appropriately.
  2. Perform patient registration, scheduling, and financial clearance.
  3. Communicate with insurance companies to verify benefits and coverage to ensure proper billing and authorization.
  4. Perform a wide variety of secretarial tasks, including answering phones, routing mail, record keeping, and written and verbal communication.
  5. Maintain department inventory and supplies.
  6. May receive and process payments at point of service according to guidelines.
  7. Create and maintain patient charts, including required documentation. Scan documents into the medical record and complete the discharge process from all systems. Archive paper charts according to established procedure.
  8. Process medical records requests identified by Health Information Management, third-party payers, attorneys, patients, and caregivers.
  9. Under the direction of the Director or Coordinator, arrange for required maintenance and repair of the office space.
  10. Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  11. Maintain and model Nuvance Health values.
  12. Perform other duties as required.
Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent.

Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Works on multiple projects.

Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.

Requires 3+ years of experience providing administrative support.

CPR Certification - will be provided by the department.

Excellent customer service skills, pleasant, professional, and articulate phone voice.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Experience with medical terminology, previous experience in a medical office setting.

Associate's Degree preferred.

Working Conditions

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.

Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk.

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force.

Physical Environment: Generally pleasant working conditions.

Salary Range: $18.39 - $34.14 Hourly.
