About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiography Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Non-Invasive Cardiology lab, you will be responsible for providing high-quality echocardiography exams and services to patients in the greater Danbury area.
Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiographic procedures on patients of all ages, ensuring the highest quality studies possible.
- Prepare and educate patients, their families, and physicians on the mechanisms and purposes of echocardiographic procedures.
- Effectively operate and maintain echocardiographic equipment, adapting to individual patient needs.
- Accurately complete paperwork, data entry, and other administrative tasks associated with procedures.
- Organize work areas and supplies safely and efficiently, scheduling patients and communicating with other departments as needed.
- Collaborate with the Echo lab, Non-Invasive Cardiology lab, Cardiology section, and hospital teams to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in laboratory procedural decision-making and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Attend educational and quality control meetings, maintaining continuing medical education units to stay current in the field.
- Fulfill compliance responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from an Ultrasound Education program with a cardiac focus.
- Ultrasound certification from ARDMAS or CCI in Echocardiography within 2 years of hire.
- Preferred: Associate's Degree and minimum of one year job-related experience.
