Position Overview:

About the Role:
Lockheed Martin's Missiles & Fire Control division is engaged in providing logistics and sustainment for various defense programs and platforms. We are currently in search of an entry-level procurement professional to become a part of our Global Supply Chain team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct supplier research to identify potential vendors.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
  • Analyze supplier data to inform procurement decisions.
  • Engage in basic negotiations to secure optimal pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms.

  • Create and maintain purchase order documentation in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Track purchase orders and monitor delivery timelines.
  • Assist in the review process to ensure Bill of Material accuracy.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a government security clearance.

Preferred Skills:
While not mandatory, the following skills are advantageous:
  • Experience in data analysis or research.
  • Familiarity with procurement or acquisition processes.
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense contract types.
  • Experience with SAP systems.
  • Ability to establish and manage supplier relationships.

Security Clearance:
This position requires a government security clearance, and candidates must be U.S. citizens to be considered.
