The Lexington KY facility presents an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional to take on the role of Procurement Specialist. In this position, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing supplier relationships, managing inventory replenishment, and ensuring a seamless supply of materials to the Lexington operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee a steady influx of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies.
  • Maintain supplier communications and networks through the procurement database.
  • Oversee the replenishment backlog, including the creation and adjustment of purchase orders.
  • Coordinate the management of open purchase orders and scheduling.
  • Handle the upstream backorder portfolio, addressing component shortages, and ensuring material availability.
  • Evaluate and enhance supplier performance using established KPIs, addressing issues with late orders and confirmations.
  • Respond daily to material requirements planning (MRP) messages and escalate recurring issues.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and short interval management (SIM).
Qualifications for Success:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly advanced knowledge of Excel and Access.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently with effective time management skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and collaborative management abilities.
  • Negotiation skills are a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Background in cost analysis, such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), is beneficial.
