Procurement Specialist

Join Our Team as a Procurement Specialist
The Lexington KY facility is seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of Procurement Specialist, also known internally as the Upstream Flow Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a steady supply of incoming raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies.
- Maintain supplier relationships and networks via the purchasing database (Supply Side Platform Portal).
- Oversee the replenishment backlog, including the creation and rescheduling of purchase orders.
- Coordinate the management of Open Purchase Orders and scheduling of orders.
- Handle the upstream backorder portfolio, address component shortages, and ensure material availability.
- Monitor supplier performance through established KPIs and collaborate with suppliers on late orders and confirmations.
- Take proactive measures regarding material requirements planning (MRP) messages and escalate recurring issues.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and short interval management (SIM).
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field is required.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly advanced skills in Excel and Access.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and collaborative management abilities.
- Negotiation skills are a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Experience in cost analysis, such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), is beneficial.
