Adjunct Faculty Member, Political Science

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach a variety of coursework in the Political Science department at Pasco-Hernando State College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, preparing, and teaching courses that meet the educational needs of assigned students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality instruction designed to meet the educational needs of assigned students in accordance with the College's policies, procedures, and approved curricula.
- Respond to the special needs and reasonable accommodations of students with disabilities, interacting with the Director of Disabilities Services to ensure that reasonable accommodations are appropriately provided.
- Provide students with a course syllabus, which will minimally include the requirements listed in the Syllabus Template, and submit copies to the appropriate Academic Dean and Provost.
- Maintain and submit accurate grade rosters and class attendance records to appropriate College personnel within established College deadlines.
- Assess student progress and post student grades.
- Provide for the purpose of academic assistance, a minimum of one office hour per week immediately before or after class, or by appointment, for each course taught.
- Adhere to College and departmental policies.
- Participate in programs and/or activities that enhance professional development.
- Review the Full-Time Faculty and Adjunct Faculty Handbook prior to teaching classes to become familiar with the College's District Board of Trustees Rules and Internal Management Memoranda.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree in Government, International Relations, or Political Science, or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields listed below. A Juris Doctorate degree with a current unrestricted Florida Bar Association license can be used for certification to instruct POS 2041 and POS 2112.

The successful candidate must possess advanced organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of students, and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders.
