Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our team at Pasco-Hernando State College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, preparing, and teaching a variety of coursework in the Division of Nursing and Health Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality instruction designed to meet the educational needs of assigned students in accordance with the College's policies, procedures, and approved curricula.
  • Respond to the special needs and reasonable accommodations of students with disabilities, interacting with the Director of Disabilities Services to ensure that accommodations are appropriately provided.
  • Develop and submit course syllabi, which will minimally include the requirements listed in the Syllabus Template, to the appropriate Academic Dean and Provost.
  • Maintain and submit accurate grade rosters and class attendance records to College personnel within established deadlines.
  • Assess student progress and post student grades.
  • Provide academic assistance, a minimum of one office hour per week, for each course taught.
  • Adhere to College and departmental policies, participating in programs and activities that enhance professional development.
  • Review the Full-Time Faculty and Adjunct Faculty Handbook prior to teaching classes to become familiar with the College's District Board of Trustees Rules and Internal Management Memoranda.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must hold current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/card.
  • Must be available to teach on all campuses.
  • Must own AHA Instructor Manual.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in facilitating adult learning is preferred.

This is a part-time position, and the successful candidate will be employed on a term-by-term basis. The position is not eligible for benefits.
