Adjunct Faculty Position in Political Science

Pasco-Hernando State College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach political science courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality instruction to students, as well as maintaining accurate records and adhering to college policies.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach a variety of political science courses, including government, international relations, and political science.
- Provide students with a course syllabus, which will minimally include the requirements listed in the Syllabus Template.
- Maintain accurate grade rosters and class attendance records, and submit them to college personnel within established deadlines.
- Assess student progress and post student grades.
- Provide for the purpose of academic assistance, a minimum of one office hour per week immediately before or after class, or by appointment, for each course taught.
- Adhere to college and departmental policies, and participate in programs and/or activities that enhance professional development.
- Reviews the Full-Time Faculty and Adjunct Faculty Handbook prior to teaching classes to become familiar with the College's District Board of Trustees Rules and Internal Management Memoranda.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
The successful candidate must have a Master's degree in Government, International Relations, or Political Science, or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields listed below. A Juris Doctorate degree with a current unrestricted Florida Bar Association license can be used for certification to instruct POS 2041 and POS 2112.
