Position Overview:

The Superintendent plays a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution, and management of commercial and industrial construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and design specifications.

This critical position involves coordinating activities among various trades and subcontractors, while also being accountable for the productivity and contractual obligations of the project. The Superintendent fosters continuous communication with the design team, Project Manager, clients, and subcontractors to guarantee compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules. Additionally, this role may involve providing estimating support, identifying design inefficiencies, and resolving issues proactively to prevent budget overruns. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, with the Superintendent responsible for recognizing hazards and implementing corrective measures.

Working Hours: The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the expectation of additional hours, including weekends, to accommodate project demands and emergencies. Most projects are located within a manageable distance from the office.


Qualifications:

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a commercial construction setting, including at least 5 years in a role such as Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Proven experience in leading commercial construction projects valued at $5 million or more.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and decision-making abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Capability to interpret and implement construction documents effectively.
  • Proficiency in calculating necessary quantities of concrete, stone, and lumber for projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on client relations and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills with the ability to manage employees and subcontractors directly.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, P6 Scheduling, Bluebeam, and Procore.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
