Position Overview:

The Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing the planning, execution, and coordination of commercial and industrial construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and design specifications.

This pivotal position requires effective collaboration with various trades and subcontractors, maintaining accountability for project productivity and compliance with contractual obligations. The Superintendent fosters ongoing communication with the design team, Project Manager, clients, and subcontractors to guarantee that all work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and schedules. Responsibilities may include providing estimating support, identifying design inefficiencies, and resolving issues proactively to prevent budget overruns. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, with the Superintendent responsible for recognizing safety hazards and implementing necessary corrective measures.

Work Schedule: Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, with the expectation of additional hours, including weekends, to accommodate project demands and emergencies. Most project sites are within a reasonable distance from the main office.



Qualifications:

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a commercial construction setting, including at least 5 years in a role such as Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $5 million or more.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting and implementing construction documents.
  • Ability to accurately calculate material quantities for projects.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on client relations and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated supervisory capabilities, including direct oversight of employees and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, P6 Scheduling, Bluebeam, and Procore.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
