Site Engineering Specialist – Nashville Position Description:
The Site Engineering Specialist will be part of the field operations team and will assist in gathering, assessing, and coordinating all necessary information to execute the project in line with the contract specifications. This role ensures that the work adheres to all safety regulations, meets schedule demands, and is constructed to the highest quality standards.

In fulfilling their responsibilities, the Site Engineering Specialist is tasked with safeguarding and advancing the interests of Turner in all related matters.


Reports To:
Project Superintendent or Superintendents

Conduct line and grade assessments for building layout and control as necessary.

Support the implementation of the site safety program and ensure subcontractor adherence to Turner safety protocols and all relevant safety codes and regulations.

Assist in maintaining contract documents and electronic web-based records for field operations.
Help prepare Daily Construction Reports (DCR's).
Review ongoing work to ensure accuracy within accepted tolerances.
Examine contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to guarantee proper coordination and installation.
Assist in the creation of project as-builts.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Overview:
Engage in engineering and administrative tasks for projects within the Special Projects Division (SPD) or other Business Unit departments.

Reports to:
Project Engineer or Engineer


Assist in obtaining and evaluating information and approvals for processing shop drawings, product data, and samples, and facilitate communication across all levels of the project team.

Support the management of communication aspects, including submissions and responses for Requests for Information (RFI's).
Assist in preparing estimates for work changes, including reviewing Change Order requests from subcontractors.
Analyze contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation.
Help maintain and update contract documents, electronic web-based records, and project logs.
Distribute essential information for construction to relevant parties.
Assist Engineering in ensuring timely release of materials and equipment for fabrication or manufacture to meet construction schedules.
Support the preparation of final project records, including close-out documents, Operations/Maintenance (OM) Manuals, and other related documentation.
Engage in other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications for a Site Engineering Specialist:
Two years of college education from an accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or a related field. Experience in building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, eagerness to learn, and effective verbal and written communication abilities are essential. Proficiency in computer applications relevant to job responsibilities is required.
A foundational understanding of scheduling programs is preferred.

Qualifications for an Engineering Assistant:


Two years of college education from an accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years' relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
Experience in building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Familiarity with general contracts, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications is also desirable.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, eagerness to learn, and effective verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
Proficiency in computer applications relevant to job responsibilities is required.
