Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews with loan applicants to gather essential information regarding their lending needs, income, and financial status.
  • Evaluate members' financial situations to assess the risk associated with extending credit.
  • Make informed decisions to approve or deny loan applications, or escalate requests to higher management when necessary.
  • Communicate loan program details to members, assess their requirements, and recommend suitable loan options.
  • Define the terms and conditions of approved loans and discuss them with members.
  • Prepare and review all loan documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Authorize modifications to loan terms, including payment waivers and due date adjustments.
  • Engage in sales development initiatives.
  • Monitor existing loans to ensure compliance with agreed terms and collaborate with collections as needed.
  • Stay updated on current trends in consumer lending.
Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of relevant experience in loan documentation, underwriting policies, and compliance. Proven ability to manage multiple loans and meet deadlines.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Interpersonal Skills:

This role involves significant personal interaction, requiring effective conflict resolution skills, relationship building, and the ability to solicit cooperation. Discussions often require a high level of confidentiality and discretion, necessitating diplomacy and tact.

Additional Skills:

Strong listening and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to analyze members' financial situations. Proficiency in ten-key, calculators, and keyboard usage is essential.

Physical Requirements:

This position primarily involves sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing or descending stairs in emergencies and operating standard office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for 6-8 hours daily is required, along with the flexibility to work extended hours as needed. Travel by automobile, commercial airlines, rental vehicles, and public transportation may be necessary.

Schedule:

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $19.00 to $26.00, depending on experience. Connections Credit Union also offers additional monthly and annual incentives for eligible employees.
