POSITION SUMMARY:

To deliver exceptional customer service to patients and visitors at Family Community Services, fostering a welcoming and professional environment. This role involves managing health center appointments, providing reception assistance, maintaining patient records, and representing the organization in all patient interactions. Family Community Services adopts a collaborative approach to patient care, focusing on achieving specific goals and outcomes.

SUPERVISOR: Health Center Administrator

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all patients via phone and in-person interactions.
  • Handle incoming calls and coordinate appointment scheduling (both in-person and virtual).
  • Complete patient registration, verify insurance details, and manage all necessary documentation.
  • Collect and process co-payments at the time of service, understand payment policies, and ensure accurate daily reconciliation of funds.
  • Conduct virtual 'Telephone Encounters' in the current operating system and assign tasks to appropriate staff.
  • Efficiently check patients in and out, consulting with clinical support and provider staff regarding walk-in patients.
  • Assist patients in navigating insurance plans, processing claims, and establishing payment plans when necessary.
  • Conduct insurance eligibility checks.
  • Patient/Customer Focus: Prioritize patient needs, demonstrating understanding and respect for their expectations; build trust and satisfaction through compassionate care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy.
  • Technical/Professional Knowledge: Maintain the expertise required to perform effectively, demonstrating problem-solving skills and professional judgment.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives.
  • Adapt to changes in assignments and priorities, utilizing creativity to develop innovative solutions.
  • Travel to various Family Community Services locations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with underserved populations and community resource programs is preferred.
  • Proficient in operating office equipment such as computers, fax machines, printers, and scanners.
  • Ability to complete all required federal and/or state consumer assistance training.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for independent and team-based work, even with challenging clients.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with effective communication skills.
  • Adhere to the principles and guidelines of Family Community Services.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills and advanced computer proficiency.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between service locations.
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • No specific licensure required.
COMPLIANCE:

This position requires adherence to Family Community Services' standards, including compliance with policies and procedures. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, including potential termination.
