The Patient Navigator will manage appointments, provide reception services, maintain patient records, and represent our organization in all patient interactions. SUPERVISOR: Health Center Administrator

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all patients via phone and in-person.
  • Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments, including telehealth services.
  • Manage patient registration, verify insurance, and process necessary documentation.
  • Collect co-payments at the time of service and ensure accurate daily financial reconciliation.
  • Facilitate virtual 'Telephone Encounters' and assign them to the appropriate staff.
  • Efficiently check patients in and out, consulting with clinical staff regarding walk-ins.
  • Assist patients in navigating their insurance plans and creating payment arrangements when necessary.
  • Conduct insurance eligibility checks.
  • Patient-Centric Focus: Prioritize patient needs and expectations, ensuring trust and satisfaction through compassionate care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and skills necessary for effective job performance.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and conditions, demonstrating creativity in problem-solving.
  • Travel: Required to visit various locations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with underserved populations preferred.
  • Proficient in operating office equipment and technology.
  • Ability to complete necessary training for consumer assistance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for independent and team-based work.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • No specific licensure required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.

COMPLIANCE:

This position requires adherence to our organization's compliance standards and policies, which will be part of regular performance evaluations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
