Position Overview

The Technical Support Engineer/Network Operations Specialist is essential in delivering comprehensive technical assistance to users, diagnosing various hardware and software challenges, and ensuring the seamless operation of network services. This position demands expertise in resolving technical support issues, guiding users, and managing fundamental database administration tasks.

As an IT Support Analyst, you will be pivotal in maintaining the effective operation of computer systems and databases, troubleshooting technical problems, and providing user support. Your skills in technical troubleshooting, network management, and proactive assistance will be crucial in sustaining a stable and efficient IT environment for CODICE.

Proficiency in computer hardware and software is necessary. Organizational skills and adaptability are vital, along with the capacity to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate within a team. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are also required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve technical support challenges related to email, computer directories, and standard desktop applications.
  • Act as the primary contact for troubleshooting network applications, hardware/software PC, and printer issues.
  • Deliver IT support services via phone and in-person, addressing inquiries and problems related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
  • Provide desktop support for MS Office and Windows OS, troubleshooting issues and offering necessary assistance.
  • Assist users in effectively utilizing various software applications through functional application support.
  • Demonstrate proactive support by identifying problems or opportunities for system and process improvements.
  • Evaluate existing IT systems and business models; analyze business enhancement processes; design innovative technology-based solutions.
  • Enhance network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network issues and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on optimization.
  • Contribute to network security efforts by establishing and monitoring security enforcement policies and defining network access.
  • Participate in deploying firewalls and various security monitoring tools and appliances.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a relevant technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and related IT experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical support and/or network administration.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems, and providing user support.
  • Basic understanding of networks and experience in addressing related issues.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with MS Office and Windows OS support.
  • Familiarity with functional application support to assist users in effectively utilizing software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, provide proactive support, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients, understand their requirements, and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server general administration.
  • Active Directory administration experience.
  • Knowledge of local area networks (LAN).
  • Experience with computer hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of computer communication systems (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.).

Work Environment

This position requires onsite presence five days a week.
