Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front Desk Manager to join our team at the Park District of Highland Park. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, members, and staff, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and staff, maintaining a positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Be knowledgeable about our mini golf course details and be able to answer questions from customers and staff.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues, ensuring seamless event planning and execution.
  • Plan and coordinate events, including mini golf outings and special events, ensuring that all details are taken care of and that events run smoothly.
  • Manage events and address any potential problems that may arise, ensuring that our guests have a positive experience.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the needs of a wide variety of events, including weddings, birthday parties, and corporate events.
  • Procure new clients for outings and events, using your excellent communication and sales skills to secure new business.
  • Create reliable financial reports and collect payments on time, ensuring that our financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Administer our POS system, including sales, inventory, and rounds reports, ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Perform cash handling and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring that our financial transactions are secure and accurate.
  • Complete daily sales reports and bank deposits, ensuring that our financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Be familiar with our other programs and services, including our PDHP software, and be able to assist with registration and other tasks as needed.
  • Assist with the training and scheduling of our front desk staff, ensuring that they are equipped to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assign and communicate weekly schedules and club activities to our front desk staff, ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Receive and route incoming calls, ensuring that our guests and staff are able to reach us quickly and easily.
  • Perform routine office support functions, including maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of our facility.
  • Assist with security of our building, ensuring that our guests and staff are safe and secure.
  • Assist with operations at our Highland Park Golf Learning Center and Highland Park Fieldhouse during the offseason, if needed.
  • Perform other Park District related duties as assigned, including special projects.
Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Front Desk Manager who has:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of relevant experience at a golf course or club.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination, preferably in a golf course or club setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the game of golf, including rules and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills.
  • A willingness and ability to exhibit a professional and polite appearance at all times.
  • The ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks, ensuring that our guests and staff receive exceptional service.
