Job Summary

The Veterinary Receptionist plays a critical role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for clients and their pets. As a key member of the animal hospital team, this individual will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, managing front desk operations, and supporting veterinarians and other staff members in daily patient and client care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Service: Greet clients and pets by name, provide a positive and solution-oriented attitude, and answer client inquiries about basic animal care and routine procedures.
  • Front Desk Operations: Manage the front desk, answer phones, and screen calls to ensure prompt and professional communication with clients.
  • Scheduling and Appointments: Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines and make confirmation calls to clients.
  • Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including notes on client conversations and any required information.
  • Financial Transactions: Collect payment for services rendered, process credit card transactions, and verify client eligibility for charge accounts.
  • Client Education: Advise clients on flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventatives, pre-anesthetic testing, pain management, shampoos, home dental products, and other retail items.
