Overview:

The Construction Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of construction projects. This position involves overseeing safety practices and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, or a related construction field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in safety management within industrial or construction environments.
  • Professional certifications such as OHST, CHST, ASP, or CSP are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant EH&S regulations and HSE processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic recordkeeping systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field audits and inspections of safety programs at project sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in the pre-qualification and renewal processes for contractors in the EHS Contractor Safety Database.
  • Identify and evaluate potential hazards to minimize safety risks and environmental impacts.
  • Participate in safety meetings to stay informed about project schedules and potential safety issues.
  • Provide regular safety reports and metrics to management and project teams.
  • Engage in investigations of safety incidents and assess corrective actions taken.
  • Deliver ongoing education and safety consultations to project teams and contractors.
  • Facilitate training sessions on various health and safety topics.
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations upon project completion.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
